Step 1: Determine Your Property’s Zoning District

Every property in Philadelphia is classified by district. Residential properties are listed as R-1, R-2, etc. Commercial properties are listed as C-1, C-2, etc. There are also industrial districts, recreation districts, and so forth. To determine which type of district your property is located in, enter the address into the city’s map generator at http://citymaps.phila.gov/zoningoverlay.
